The Tharu cultural show is always good visited. Around 100 people are watching the expression of their culture in dances in the main seasons. A funny, very British speaking moderator leads trough the evening and explains the backgrounds of their dances.
Ten, white dressed boys present for example the stick dance, which used to scare wild animals, dances with torches or the colour festival dance. At the end there is even a huge peacock dancing, which is presenting the national animal. Around one hour is filled with an entertaining program of dances, songs and drum plays. Finally the audience is even invited to learn a dance. And a lot of people follow this offer till the stage is crowed.
The show takes place every evening at 7.30 pm in Sauraha. The entry costs 50 Rupies. It’s a good evening program to relax and get more in touch with the Tharu culture, through watching their dances.
